The Nine Divine Nights..... NAVARATRI

Last night as I stepped out of my clinic, I was quite surprised to see an Indian lady peeling flower petals while seated. In front of her , standing behind pails of flowers and a big rounded tub of water with petals floating merrily was Brother Ravi of the Sri Sathya Sai SS3 Centre.
I asked him about the big crowd of Sai Baba devotees who were already seated at their prayer hall at the ground floor and about the pails of flower petals.
"We are celebrating NAVARATRI and the flower petals to wash the feet to of devotees mothers and get their blessings" " Nava means Nine, Ratri denotes Nights" " We observe the festival starting on 8 October and ending on 16 October"
Last night I did not have much sleep as I could not under all the religious statements in the Internet, so here I am from morning till lunch time, while seeing patients and in between downloading the revelant bits for my better understanding so I can share with you all.
Navaratri is a festival to commemorate the victory of good over evil. It is one of the greatest Hindu festival and is also known as Durga Puja. God ( Lord Shiva) is adored as Mother.
Durga, the Mother Goddess(Kali), is worshipped on the first 3 days in order to destroy all our impurities, vices and defects.
Lakshimi is worshipped the next 3 days as she is the goddess of wealth and have the power of bestowing on all her devotees inexhaustible wealth.
Saraswati, the Goddess of Wisdom is worshipped the final 3 days.
In order to have all-round success believers seek the blessing of all three aspects of the divine feminity, hence the nights of worship. The 3 Goddess are also worshipped as 3 three manifestations of Shakti, or cosmic energy.
Wow I am near enlightment of Navaratri.
Looking on is Budget 2011, a budget for the Rakyat. For the first time lots of goodies in form of allowances, loans and incentivies are channeled to the civil servants. While the private sectors are encouraged to lead in making the country into a high income nation by 2020.
Tonight is the last night of Navaratri and tommorrow is the end of the festival. BN with this new budget must execute the implementations effectively by following the blessings of Durga, Lakshimi and Saraswati. Like in Star Wars, " MAY THE FORCE ( SHAKTI ) BE WITH YOU" God Bless!
