A LONG TIME AGO.......

A long time ago... about a decade, 1990 we decided to climb G. Murud the highest mountain in Sarawak.

In 1989 the 5 of us, Jennifer (my other half), Chee Ming (eldest), Pik Li ( 2nd eldest) and Pik Yuet (the youngest) stood tall at the highest peak of SE Asia: g. kinabalu. Pik Yuet set a record of sorts as she was only four and a half years ago.

Now at five years old in 1990, Pik Yuet had no other choice but part of the Climbing family: the family who climb together, stays together.

She made it to the summit. No sweat and that was how ABM ( Association of Backpackers) took the challenge. Later on in 1991 our family climbed all the highest mountains above 7000ft on the Banjaran Titiwangsa. In 10 months the whole adventure was completed. At six and half Pik Yuet made us and ABM proud to have climbed G. Tahun, the highest in Peninsular Malaysia- a total distance (to & fro) of 110km.

Today (2010) Pik Yuet is doing her final year Medicine in Khurst State Medical University, Russia, graduating June 2011. Pik Li is a Medical Officer specialising in Radiology at Sungei Buloh Hospital. Chee Ming is practising as an Intensivist in London ( once a week) and the remaining days of the week as a consultant of an animation graphics company. Jennifer since has retired as a secondary school principal. Me, the author of this Blog, besides Tweet, Facebook, Email has migrated to the new media to interact with the public. I am still a pracising medical doctor.

Yes , it appeared a long time ago when we climbed and we are still climbing in cyberspace today!
